Swedish Securities Dealers Association

The Swedish Securities Dealers Association (SSDA) was founded in 1908 and is an association which represents the common interest of banks and investment services firms active on the securities market. Within the association there is a Structured Products project group that was initiated in 2008. The aim of the project is to work towards more transparency, clarity and understanding for structured products.

Among other things the project has developed an industry code with guidelines for the content of marketing material for issued structured products. The code also comes with a glossary with explanations and definitions of terminology that is commonly used in marketing materials. There is also some information material that can assist the investor. The code, glossary and information material are all available on the project website www.fondhandlarna.se/struktprod

The guidelines in the industry code are additional to the requirements for information that are stated by law and the Swedish FSA (Finansinspektionen). The code lays out a common minimum standard for what is considered acceptable industry practice. Arrangers and issuers of structured products who are members of SSDA and who follow these guidelines can show this by using the industry code logo in their marketing materials and/or on their website. Arrangers that are not members of SSDA may in other ways indicate if they have chosen to follow the code.
