NASDAQ OMX Nordic Co-Location Services

In today’s marketplaces connectivity and accessibility are of essence for efficient securities transactions. Speed of response and latency are getting more and more important, especially when algorithmic and program trading methodologies form the base of your business. NASDAQ OMX Nordic offers customers of its marketplaces a solution to reduce network latency to a non-issue.

About the Service

NASDAQ OMX provides space to its customers not close but in the same datacenter where the central matching engine resides and operates. The customer will get a full or half dedicated cabinet where to place its servers and applications.

As the leader in trading and data technology for the financial industry, NASDAQ OMX has developed a co-location services program that provides:

Ultra low latency connectivity to NASDAQ OMX’s trading systems
• A state-of-the-art data center facility
• A highly secure and access controlled environment
• All necessary power including redundant generation systems
• Air conditioned environment including raised floors with ventilation
• Remote technical support from NASDAQ OMX’s highly trained staff

NASDAQ OMX encourages co-location customers to use ITCH IP Multicast. Find out more about the advantages in this presentation

NASDAQ OMX provides a number of add-on services to meet co-location customer needs:

Premium Co-lo Access Service:

The Premium Co-lo Access Service is built on low latency technology that enables faster access to market data and reduces order entry latency.

Highlights:

  • Lowest possible OUCH order entry round trip latency
  • Lowest possible Genium INET roundtrip latency
  • INET Market data via ITCH IP Multicast only
  • Supports both RJ45 (1G only) or fiber handoffs (1G and 10G)
  • Requires E-BGP

From September 2012, customers will have the option to connect also via a new 10G Premium Access Network. The 10G access is limited to INET OUCH order entry and INET ITCH multicast market data.

The new 10G access network is expected to reduce the average roundtrip latency on order entry by more than 20% compared to the existing 1G Peremium Access network.

Technical specifications:
